# System requirements

- **Perfect Streamer** runs on the Linux operating system. The main requirement is GLIBC version >= 2.17.
- Network interfaces used by the streamer service must have static configuration.
- The installer scripts use the **sudo** utility, i.e. it must be installed on the system.
- The protection system package **aksusbd**, version 10.33 or newer. It is declared a dependency of the **pstreamer** package and lies in the same repository, so when installing from there the package manager installs it by itself and the protection service does not have to be obtained separately. If, however, **pstreamer** is installed from a file, bypassing the repository, the installation will not go through until the dependency is satisfied.

Installation packages and repositories are available for the Red Hat and Debian families. RHEL version 7 and higher (CentOS, etc.) is supported, as well as RPM-compatible distributions — for example, openSUSE Leap (see the note at the end of the [Installation on RHEL-family systems](rhel.md#install-rhel) section). Debian-based systems (Ubuntu, etc.) must have the systemd service.

Indicative hardware requirements: 1 core at 2.4 GHz and 1 GB of RAM per 200 Mbps of traffic. This estimate is approximate and depends on the protocols used and the service settings.
